SOZOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE VEGETATION COVER OF THE KHOROL RIVER VALLEY

The paper presents a comprehensive study of the floristic diversity of the Khorol River Valley, with an emphasis on rare and endangered plant species of important sozological significance. The species composition of the vegetation cover was analysed and the rare fraction of the flora, which includes 103 species of higher vascular plants, was determined. Among them, 2 species are included in the European Red List, and 14 species are included in the Red Book of Ukraine. The dominant families were identified and species rarity categories were determined. The main threats to the populations of individual species, which negatively affect their numbers and distribution, are presented. The results of the study emphasize the importance of preserving the biodiversity of the Khorol River Valley as a unique natural area and the need to develop scientifically based recommendations for the protection of phytocoenoses. Particular attention is paid to the need to introduce systematic monitoring of the state of populations of the found species and their environment in order to take timely measures to ensure the sustainable conservation of natural complexes.
