Sāṅkhya philosophy is an āstika (orthodox) school of Indian philosophy. It is believed to have been founded by Kapila Muni and is considered one of the most ancient philosophical systems. References to Sāṅkhya philosophy are clearly visible in India's oldest religious scriptures. Another name for Sāṅkhya philosophy is "Sāṅkhya Pravachana." It is also known as Niriśvara Sāṅkhya (atheistic Sāṅkhya) since Maharshi Kapila did not establish the concept of God in his teachings. The most authentic and ancient text of Sāṅkhya philosophy is Īśvarakṛta’s "Sāṅkhya Kārika." Additionally, works such as "Sāṅkhya Kārika Bhāṣya," "Tarka Kaumudī," "Sāṅkhya Sāra," and "Sāṅkhya Pravachana Bhāṣya" are considered authoritative texts of Sāṅkhya philosophy.
