Implementação do controle de ROVs a partir de bases terrestres
The work proposal involved piloting ROV vehicles from onshore control centers (OCCs) as part of the SSUB Remote Operations Strategic Initiative, aiming to reduce risks for professionals and improve decision-making. The team collaborated with ROV service providers such as Fugro, Subsea7 and Oceaneering to adapt existing RSVs and use a private 4G network with a highspeed link to control the vehicles. The project faced challenges in configuring the network and simulating offshore operations. In January 2023, Fugro successfully conducted 8 subsea pipeline inspections more than 8 kilometers from the P57 platform. In March 2023, Subsea7 completed 5 pipeline inspections and 2 ANM inspections with the RSV CBO Wave. The pilot will continue with Oceaneering inspections and exploration of low-orbit satellite transmission technology. The first two phases of the project demonstrated the benefits of piloting ROVs from land bases to the submarine fleet.
