Reinventando a conexão submarina

This work focuses on presenting a pioneering and revolutionary methodology used in emergency corrective maintenance of anchor lines #9 on platform P-53 and #19 on platform P-54, carried out in November 2021 and January 2022, respectively. The methodology consists of recovering both ends of the broken anchor system, disconnection and replacement of damaged components, and then, the mid-wather subsea reconnection of the anchor line, keeping it close to the designed traction, without the need to activate winches or any other equipment on board the Floating Production Unit (FPU). This method is unprecedented at Petrobras and in the oil industry, having been developed, structured and step-by-step designed by Petrobras' own engineering team. The main challenges encountered in carrying out this type of operation are the development of a connection arrangement with a size and weight that can be handled by the AHTS vessels available in the fleet, the simulation of distances and loads applied by the AHTS vessels on the lines to be connected and the coordination of the operation of at least 5 vessels + FPU involved in the maneuver. The main innovations and implementations used to achieve the results obtained include the use of proprietary software (SITUA) to simulate operations, which the possibility of inserting obstacles, calculating distances, checking interference, loading and environmental conditions.
