Advanced Smart Transportation System Using V2V Communication

This paper presents an advanced smart transportation system utilizing vehicle-to- vehicle (V2V) communication technology to improve real-time data exchange between vehicles, enhancing decision- making and safety for drivers. The implementation of V2V communication in smart transportation aims to create a safer, more efficient, and sustainable driving experience, paving the way for the future of autonomous vehicles and intelligent traffic management systems. This article introduces a responsive traffic signal control system that modifies signal durations depending on current traffic density data through V2V communication. The system, built using Veins, SUMO, OMNeT++, and OpenStreetMaps, successfully reduced congestion and improved traffic flow efficiency in simulated urban environments.
