Design Signatures in the Wild: Making the Invisible Visible (The Director&s Cut)

This workshop has been developed for project-based engineering educators and researchers-introducing research-based tools and techniques that can be used throughout the engineering education pathway. A central goal of this pre-conference workshop is to provide practitioners with knowledge and materials that will assist in the creation of design experiences that encourage their students to be reflective learners and intentional designers. The interactive workshop will include a discussion of the research context, hands-on learning activities, and opportunities for application to the participants' own teaching settings. The workshop has been created for design educators at all post-secondary levels, from novices to experts in the craft. The underlying concepts can be applied in a variety of design teaching opportunities, ranging from first-year to capstone to graduate courses.
