Evaluating Data and Power Transmission Efficiency Through Free Space Optics Under Atmospheric Turbulence
In today's world, wireless data and power transmission systems are challenged with significant obstacles, particularly those arising from atmospheric turbulence and environmental conditions. The increasing complexity of network infrastructures, coupled with challenges posed by adverse weather, further complicates the reliability and efficiency of these systems. To address these issues, we propose a technique using Free Space Optics (FSO) to enable real-time data and power transmission wirelessly. FSO offers advantages over traditional RF-based wireless communication, such as lower cost, higher speeds, increased data rates, and broader bandwidth. Unlike RF, which relies on licensed bands, FSO operates on an unlicensed spectrum, providing a promising alternative. However, atmospheric conditions pose difficulties for FSO-based communication. This paper evaluates the performance of the proposed system under different weather conditions, including clear skies, haze, heavy rain, and various levels of fog. The system's performance is analyzed in terms of visibility range, quality factor, bit error rate (BER), and eye diagrams across varying atmospheric scenarios.
