INCIDÊNCIA DE CÂNCER DE COLO DE ÚTERO EM JOVENS DE 21 A 45 ANOS CAPITAL DO ACRE E AMAZONAS: UM ESTUDO COMPARATIVO ENTRE CAPITAIS

Introduction: Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in Brazil, with a particularly high incidence in regions with limited access to healthcare services, such as the Northern Region. Traditionally, the disease has a greater impact on women over the age of 45. However, there is a concerning increase in the incidence rate among younger women, aged 21 to 45, a group that is often not the primary focus of prevention campaigns. Objective: To identify the determining factors behind the increase of the disease in this age group and to assess the current preventive strategies, as well as to investigate the barriers to early diagnosis and proper treatment. Materials and Methods: The methodology will be based on a literature review of academic studies, epidemiological data, and public policies for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer. Articles published between 2018 and 2023 will be analyzed, in addition to official data from the National Cancer Institute (INCA) and the Ministry of Health. The analysis will focus on sociodemographic aspects and access to healthcare services in the cities of Rio Branco and Manaus, with an emphasis on the young female population. Results and Conclusions: The study revealed significant regional disparities, with Manaus facing greater challenges regarding the prevention and early diagnosis of cervical cancer. Expanding health education strategies, strengthening vaccination campaigns, and improving access to preventive exams are essential to reduce the incidence of the disease in both capitals, especially in peripheral and riverside areas. It is crucial that public policies are adapted to local realities to promote equity in healthcare access and prevent mortality among young women.
