Realidad aumentada como herramienta para promover el trabajo artesanal de Pujilí y su contribución al enriquecimiento cultural

The project focuses on researching the traditional process of local pottery and creating visual content that will be integrated into the application, allowing users to explore the products through an interactive visual educational experience. The objective is to develop an augmented reality application to visualize the handmade products of the parish “La Victoria”, located in the canton of Pujilí, province of Cotopaxi, Ecuador, and to promote the knowledge of this cultural heritage. The methodology includes the collection of bibliographic information, interviews with artisans, analysis of photographs and the production of visual material that will be edited to be included in the application. The tool follows an interdisciplinary approach combining technology with the cultural and aesthetic elements of the region. The results yield a knowledge base on the pottery of the sector, a bank of edited images of the artisanal products, and the development of a functional prototype of the augmented reality application, which will allow users to interact with the artisanal products, contributing to the conservation of local traditions, promoting tourism and strengthening the artisanal cultural identity of the sector, which contributes to pottery sustainability.
