AVALIAÇÃO DA EFETIVIDADE DO EXTRATO DE CANNABIS PARA TRATAMENTO DA ANSIEDADE E INSÔNIA

the objective of this study was to compare, in relation to other medications, the effectiveness of treatment with Cannabis extract for anxiety and insomnia in a group of patients in the city of Volta Redonda and whether this substance actually represents an alternative or complement for the treatment of these disorders. Material and Methods: cross-sectional, descriptive study, using an online questionnaire. Results: 19 patients were studied, predominantly adult women, who reported insomnia and/or anxiety over a prolonged period, without success in treatment with drugs widely used by the population. Common comorbidities were systemic arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus and chronic pain. In the interviewed group, anxiety and insomnia were the main cause of adherence to treatment. Conclusion: despite the small population studied, the efficacy of Cannabis extract was positive for the treatment of the reported disorders.
