La restitution du patrimoine culturel pillé sous l’ère coloniale
The question of the restitution of the cultural heritage looted during the colonial era imposed itself on the international agenda starting from the 1960s, thanks to the third-worldist activism of the newly independent countries. This quest for the restitution was part of the projects of emancipation and appropriation of the national identities, neglected by colonialism. The French President Emmanuel MACRON discourse in Ouagadougou, in November 2017, re-launched the debate in the developed countries, a still vivid debate between former colonizers and former colonized.
