Repenser les études théâtrales en Afrique en fonction des réalités dramatiques endogènes : le cas du Sénégal

Since independence, African playwrights have sought to decolonize the dramatic models inherited from the Western school. They innovate and integrate the specificities of traditional African theater into their creations, despite the use of Western means of expression. However, the teaching of the theatrical discipline always highlights the history and aesthetics of theater in the West. This study reminds us that researchers are increasingly shedding light on African dramatic practices and their methods of integration by playwrights at the level of their creations both in terms of the conception of writing and staging. The main results reached by this study therefore essentially revolve around processes, concepts, endogenous criteria that are more relevant for understanding the specificity of African dramatic creations and reorienting theater studies in Africa towards new perspectives.KEYWORDS:African theater -aesthetics -decolonization -writing -staging.
