Dynamic Mode Decomposition Analysis of Very Low Frequency Oscillations on the Irish Grid
This paper presents an analysis of the recorded Very Low Frequency Oscillation (VLFO) events on the Irish grid in 2021. Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) is applied to each of the events. The results are based on 1-second resolution system frequency from a single Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU). The study verifies the accuracy of simple DMD algorithms on ambient PMU data.
