IoT-based Smart University Using MQTT Protocol: A Scalable and Sustainable Design Approach

Recently, we were moving to transform our day-to-day lives into smart environments. This can exploit many technologies, especially IoT system technology, which covers diverse applications in this era. This system interconnects all possible physical things that have the capability of performing computation, processing, storage, and communication with other smart devices. During all actions, it would require an efficient and scalable design structure to perform fast processing and communication without any latency. This paper is mainly targeted at automating various manual activities inside the university campus blocks using the most recent technology, like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Node-Red, Mosquitto MQTT Broker, NoSQL databases, and Grafana open-source tools. As a result, we will establish a scalable and sustainable design architecture for smart environments through enhanced control and connectivity.
