Solar Photovoltaic Based Reduced Multilevel Inverter Using Digital Logic Controller Based ANN Technique for Reduction of Harmonics

This article pioneers the solar supplied cascaded multilevel inverter, a cascaded multilevel inverter (MLI) that blends digital logic control with various level control techniques. These days, cascading multilevel are employed in a variety of application domains, including smart grid, grid-tied inverters, industrial driver applications, and charging stations for electric vehicles. The multilayer inverter's fewer switches will aid in lowering the harmonics that arise in the system when a load is connected. The Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) consequently affects the benefits of MLI by the output voltage. Topologically advance control technique is required for the MLI to satisfactory output voltage control. In this work, a different kind of DC source is fed to the Cascaded MLI from the battery source. Here the THD is compared with two methods one is conventional PWM method with 9 level and 7 level with source voltage of 48V, 96V, 196V and the output reduced THD is achieved. The overall simulation is done in MATLAB/ SIMULINK model of the proposed scheme. In the future Neural network techniques can be used for improvement of power quality.
