Numerical Modeling of Photonic Crystal Fibers Using Muller Boundary Integral Equations
The article is devoted to the numerical modeling of photonic crystal fibers. To this end, a nonlinear eigenvalue problem for a system of Muller boundary integral equations is constructed. To discretize it, the Galerkin method with an orthogonal trigonometric basis is used. The matrix elements of the nonlinear algebraic eigenvalue problem are calculated explicitly. As a numerical example, propagation constants and eigenwaves of a photonic crystal fiber with a liquid crystal core are found.
