A Novel Concatenated Design for 5G New Radio Polar Codes over Multipath Fading Channel Models

Channel coding is essential for communication networks, and forthcoming wireless systems will want highperformance codes with little complexity for many applications.Polar codes in fading channels have considerable significance for the use of polar codes in wireless communications, since they are capable of managing brief messages at elevated code rates. This paper provides a new concatenated design consisting of two 5G New Radio (NR) polar codes for that is specifically tailored to the multipath fading channels in Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC).The proposed methodology considers concatenation of two NR Polar Codes which forms a dual layered coded scheme thereby facilitate better error correction ability and specially designed when the channels are modelled as Rayleigh Fading Environment and Lognormal shadowing channels.Recently developed FBMC, which enjoys its high spectral efficiency and low inter-carrier interference(ICI) at the cost of more complex equalization methods to maintain reliable communication due to increased frequency selectivity as well as additional time-varying properties within channels. In this research, designs the inner NR Polar Code for well-structured noise in wireless communication via URLLC, and optimizes outer code to further strengthen adaptiveness against random amplitude fluctuation caused by multipath fading. The proposed hybrid Polar Code design is able to provide efficient protection against channel impairments, either in the context of a single or multiple FBMC processing layers.Performance of the proposed dual NR Polar Code scheme within an FBMC system is evaluated under comprehensive simulations.Experimental results reveal substantial enhancements in Bit Error Rate (BER) and Frame Error Rate (FER) compared to corresponding based NR Polar Codes or other state-of-the-art error correction methods operating at respective channel conditions. The results highlight the effectiveness of Polar Code twin layer strategy in reducing Rayleigh fading attenuation such that 5G NR communication links can be provide higher reliability and efficiency. This paper also provides evidence of the feasibility in combining the dual NR Polar Code scheme into an FBMC system, which can be used as a foundation to elevate towards potential wireless communication standards with similar levels of reliability and spectral efficiency. The first characterizes this work as seminal to the progress of coding techniques so that 5G NR systems will able to fulfill new challenging demands from modern wireless networks operating in harsh fading conditions. Results show that concatenated channel coding structures could offer a 2.7 dB coding gain at a BER of 10 -6 , in the first scenario at code rate 1/3, and a 1 dB gain at a BER of 10 -6 in the second scenario at rate 1/2, which is the same gain of FER was enhanced, without adding additional complexity to the FBMC system.
