Harmonization of parent-child relationships as a factor in adolescent resilience formation: experimental results

The article presents the results of an experimental study on the relationship between harmonization of parent-child relationships and adolescent resilience formation. The program “Parents and Adolescents: Interaction and Trust as Support in Difficult Times” is presented. The methodological foundation of the research is analyzed, which is based on dialectical, systemic, and eco-facilitative approaches, the theory of self-organization of open systems, and family resilience theory. The structure, content, and organizational aspects of the program, which includes psychoeducational, facilitative, and reflective components, are defined. The effectiveness of different program implementation formats was experimentally tested on a sample of 76 adolescents and their mothers, with the highest effectiveness demonstrated in the comprehensive format involving both parents and adolescents simultaneously. Statistically significant results were obtained regarding increased adolescent resilience indicators, communication quality, and decreased alienation in the experimental group. Attention is focused on qualitative changes in parent-child relationships, manifested in increased trust levels and improved communication. Positive changes in parenting strategies were observed, particularly in reducing authoritarian style manifestations and balancing authoritative parenting style. It was determined that the most effective approach involves simultaneous work with parents and adolescents. The study demonstrates that key elements of program effectiveness include eco-facilitative support, creating a safe eco-psychological space for interaction, open dialogue, balance of reflective understanding, practical communication skills development, and working with the family system as a whole.
