Fast Determination of Oxygen in FeSiAl magnetic alloy by Inert Gas Fusion Method
Abstract A fast method that combines inert gas fusion with infrared absorption spectrometry for determination of total oxygen in FeSiAl magnetic alloy has been established. The whole analyzing process was introduced, especially the selection of sample weight, analytical power, fluxes and calibration. The blank test, precision test and spiked recovery test were conducted to verify the suitability and accuracy of the proposed method. Limit of quantifications were in the range of 0.010% to 0.012%, while relative standard deviations were less 9.5%. The recovery rates of oxygen in potassium hydrogen phthalate were between 90% and 107%. The inert gas fusion-infrared method of testing a sample needs 4 min. It has shown that the new method is accurate and efficient.
