A Blind Calibration Method for I/Q Imbalance Based on Gradient Descent

This paper presents an adaptive blind calibration algorithm for I/Q imbalance, based on gradient optimization and momentum methods, addressing quadrature gain and phase imbalance issues in the baseband signal of zero-IF receivers. Through sophisticated mathematical modeling and iterative optimization, this method incrementally refines the estimated values of gain and phase errors to achieve effective amplitude and phase corrections, minimizing the impact of image frequency components. Compared to other calibration methods, this approach exhibits superior adaptability, accuracy, and lower complexity. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm effectively corrects I/Q imbalance, enhances the image rejection ratio (IRR), and improves overall communication system performance.
