Frequency control methods for remote island microgrid interconnected HVDC system using renewable energy and diesel generators

This paper confirms through simulation whether a direct current transmission (HVDC) system between the mainland and a remote island can control frequency and power supply and demand balance in the island power grid in case a large capacity of renewable energy sources is installed in the island.
