Effectiveness of imagery technique supported by Virtual Reality among athletes

This research introduces an eight-week long imagery training supported by a customized VR program, aiming to its effectiveness among athletes. In this research in summary 15 athletes participated (9 fencers and 6 football players), who were between the ages of 16 and 17. We used a control group of 6 athletes, who received the regular imagery training without the support of VR, and an experimental group of 9 athletes who received the imagery training supported by VR. During the research we measured the following variables three times (first time before the training, second time after the training, third time one month after the end of the training): ability of sport-specific imagery, sport-specific anxiety, mindfulness, cognitive failures and level of concentration. The overarching goal is to compare the control group and the experimental group to determine whether there are any advantages to using this new method.
