Biochemical Alteration in Channa Striatus (Bloch) Fed with High Dietary Lipid

Channa striatus (common snakehead), was subjected to biochemical investigations to establish its normal status for reference purposes. One hundred twenty individuals of snakehead were procured for the study. For conveniences, they were categorized into four groups based on feeding: Group 1: [control diet 1:1 (fish meal: fish oil)], group 2 (6% lipid in the diet), group 3 (8% lipid in the diet), and group 4 (10% lipid in the diet). The mean weight and total length for the entire samples were 40 1.50 g, respectively. The mean biochemical properties such as total protein, Glycogen, and Lipid. The results showed significant differences (p<0.05) in the weight and length among the four groups, however, no significant differences (p>0.05) were recognized between the respective biochemical parameters. The mean condition factor in all the groups was above 1.0 which indicates a healthy population.
