Nem Passado, Nem Futuro
The study explores the socio-territorial conflicts and inequalities surrounding the Suape Industrial and Port Complex (CIPS) in Pernambuco, analyzing the repercussions of economic transformations and territorial expansion on local communities. The research is developed within the context of the drafting of the 2035 Master Plan, combining, in its methodology, a documental analysis of the 2030 Suape Master Plan and semi-structured interviews with local actors, aiming to understand the social dynamics present in the territory from the perspectives and experiences of those who inhabit it. The findings highlight the impacts of changes in productive dynamics, such as the disruption of traditional ways of life and the weakening of identity bonds, intensifying conflicts and feelings of injustice and exclusion. As a contribution, the study emphasizes the need for public policies that incorporate the perspectives of affected communities, promoting a fairer and more sustainable development.
