EFFECT OF PASSIVE STRETCHING AND FOAM ROLLER ON HAMSTRING FLEXIBILITY ON COLLEGE STUDENTS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY
Background: Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, is a common overuse syndrome of the extensor tendons of the forearm causing pain in the elbow and forearm and lack of strength and function of the elbow and wrist. It has been suggested that eccentric exercise programs should be used as a first-line conservative treatment for LET in order to lengthen the musculotendinous unit while applying a load. Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is a gentle manual therapy intervention targeting the soft tissues primarily, although it also makes a major contribution toward the joint mobilization. Present study compares both these techniques for effective management of tennis elbow. Methodology: 30 College students with Hamstring tightness were selected via Inclusion and Exclusion criteria and divided into 2 groups via simple random sampling. One group received Foam rolling and another group received Passive stretching. Both groups assessed pre and post treatment via Active Knee Extension test. Total study duration was 2 weeks. Results of present study confirms that both Foam rolling and passive stre Results And Conclusions: tching can be useful in improving hamstring flexibility in college students.
