Dynamical analysis of a periodically switched predator–prey model with role reversal and hibernation
In this paper, we develop and study a novel predator–prey system that incorporates the role reversal of prey–predator interactions during hibernation and non-hibernation periods. The [Formula: see text] theory and the comparison theorem are employed to determine the conditions for the asymptotic stability of the trivial and semi-trivial periodic solutions of the system. The permanence of the system is then analyzed using proof by contradiction, and sufficient conditions for the permanence of the system are obtained. The findings of our study suggest that the role reversal and harvesting are the key factors influencing the dynamics of the system. Finally, several examples are presented to validate our main results and to further explore the other complex dynamical behaviors of the system by the numerical analysis method.
