Performance of green gram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] as influenced by Integrated nutrient management under rainfed conditions
The present investigation was undertaken in the experimental field of Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Nagaland during kharif season of 2022 to assess the effect of integrated nutrient management on the performance of green gram. The experiment was carried out with triplicates in a completely randomized block design with seven treatments: Recommended dose of fertilizer (T1), 75% RDF + 25% FYM (T2), 50% RDF + 50% FYM (T3), 25% RDF + 75% FYM (T4), 75% RDF + Rhizobium @ 20g kg -1 seed + Phosphotika @ 20g kg -1 seed (T5), 50% RDF + Rhizobium @ 20g kg -1 seed + Phosphotika @ 20g kg -1 seed (T6), 25% RDF + Rhizobium @ 20g kg -1 seed + Phosphotika @ 20g kg -1 seed (T7) along with control. The soil of experimental area was high in organic carbon, low in available Nitrogen and Phosphorus and high in available Potassium. Results revealed that significant increase in growth, yield attributes and yield of green gram were recorded with the application of 75% RDF + Rhizobium @ 20g kg -1 seed + Phosphotika @ 20g kg -1 seed over other treatments. The gross returns, net returns and benefit: cost ratio was also higher under 75% RDF + Rhizobium @ 20g kg -1 seed + Phosphotika @ 20g kg -1 seed.Hence, integrated nutrient management could be more effective in augmenting mungbean growth, yield and could fetch the most profitable returns in the hills of Nagaland in the summer season.
