"Effects of NAA and BAP Plant Growth Regulators on Camelina sativa Shoot, Leaf and Root Explants, an Important Oil Crop"
In this study, the responses of Camelina sativa to plant growth regulators; Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and Benzylaminopurine (BAP) under tissue culture conditions were investigated.Shoot, leaf and root explants were cultured in MS medium containing NAA and BAP; 0.1 mg/L NAA + 0.1 mg/L BAP; 0.1 mg/L NAA + 0.5 mg/L BAP; 0.1 mg/L NAA + 2 mg/L BAP; 0.5 mg/L NAA + 0 mg/L BAP; 0.5 mg/L NAA + 0.1 mg/L BAP, 0.5 mg/L NAA + 1 mg/L BAP.The results show changes depending on the explant type and the concentration of NAA and BAP in the medium. As a result of the observations, it was seen that the combination of 0.5 mg/L NAA and 1 mg/L BAP provided the best shoot growth in shoot explants. All applications to leaf explants resulted in callus formation and it was determined that these tissues were highly sensitive to callus induction.NAA and BAP also played an important role in callus induction in C. sativa roots.Callus formations of different sizes were observed in all applications to roots. These results indicate that these two plant growth regulators play an important role in the induction of callus tissue formation in C. sativa explants and open new avenues for understanding the response mechanisms in this plant.
