Optimization the dimensions a solar cell, with quantum well, in AlGaAs/GaAs, under monochromatic illumination, as a function temperature and wavelength

This study presents a method for optimizing the thickness a solar cell as a function of the temperature and the wavelength of the incident light. The utilization photocurrent density curves as a function recombination speed at the junction allows for the derivation of a second-degree equation, the solution of which provides two expressions for recombination velocity at the front face (S_e1 and S_e2).The graphical representation recombination velocity as a function of temperature and wavelength allows us to determine the optimal thickness of the solar cell emitter. The calibration curves obtained make it possible to predict the optimal thickness for each considered value wavelength and temperature.

Abstract

This study presents a method for optimizing the thickness a solar cell as a function of the temperature and the wavelength of the incident light. The utilization photocurrent density curves as a function recombination speed at the junction allows for the derivation of a second-degree equation, the solution of which provides two expressions for recombination velocity at the front face (S_e1 and S_e2).The graphical representation recombination velocity as a function of temperature and wavelength allows us to determine the optimal thickness of the solar cell emitter. The calibration curves obtained make it possible to predict the optimal thickness for each considered value wavelength and temperature.
