Analysis of some anthropogenic and climatic factors of the degradation of a forest in the South Sudanese zone

The forest resources of the Hauts Bassins region in general and of the Dindrsso Classified Forest (FCD) are undergoing accelerated degradation. This degradation is both anthropogenic and climatic. The objective of this study is to establish a diagnosis of the management method, anthropogenic practices in this classified area and a characterization of precipitation to link their effects on vegetation. To do this, variations in the climate in the study area, over a period of 40 years, are analyzed using the standardized precipitation index, dry sequences and annual averages of precipitation per decade. The opinions of 196 local residents, collected through semi-structured surveys and direct observations made in the field, made it possible to determine the forms of degradation and to assess the management of this forest entity. The results of the rainfall parameters made it possible to identify two major periods that occurred from 1974 to 2013.In 40 years, the forest experienced 22 years of rainfall deficit compared to 18 years of surplus. The surveys show that respondents find that the forest is little degraded (49.10%).This is reflected in the good management of the forest (67.5%).However, the forest is confronted with certain illegal activities, namely the abusive cutting of wood, uncontrolled fires Analysis of
