IoT Based Smart Irrigation for Soil Nutrient Monitoring and Supply-an Overview
The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in agriculture has led to significant advancements in precision farming, particularly in smart irrigation systems that monitor and manage soil nutrients. This article offers a thorough review of Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart irrigation systems, emphasizing the provision and monitoring of soil nutrients. The paper begins by exploring the core components and technologies that enable these systems, such as moisture sensors, nutrient detectors, and automated irrigation controllers. It then delves into the methodologies for real-time data collection and analysis, which are essential for optimizing water use and ensuring crops receive adequate nutrients. The study illustrates the useful uses and advantages of these systems—such as higher agricultural yields, effective resource management, and sustainability— through case studies and examples. The challenges in implementation, such as sensor accuracy and connectivity issues, are also discussed along with potential solutions. To further improve the effectiveness and scalability of smart irrigation systems, the article concludes by discussing potential future avenues for IoT in agriculture, such as the integration of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics. With the use of cutting- edge IoT technology, this study seeks to serve as a useful tool for academics and practitioners wishing to develop precision agriculture.
