Carbon Reduction Method for Cement: Preparation of a New Grinding Aid Based on Environmentally Friendly High-Belite Clinker
This study mainly utilized several organic raw materials and composited trace amounts of graphene oxide (GO) solution to prepare a new type of grinding aid (N-GA) and explored its impact on the performance of high-belite cement (HBC). The low-carbon and low-heat cement (LCHC) was compounded by ball milling a mixture of 0.35‰ N-GA, 5.0% desulfurization gypsum, and 95.0% HBC. The ball-milling test results showed that the addition of N-GA increased the specific surface area of the LCHC particle and significantly improved the early mechanical strength of LCHC mortar. The experiment results also further demonstrated that N-GA had the effect of promoting LCHC hydration, resulting in the formation of more CH and C─ S─ H. Through mechanism analysis, it might be concluded that the dispersibility of the LCHC particle was improved through charge repulsion and steric hindrance, and the components of GO solution also had the effect of accelerating C3S hydration, thereby enhancing the early mechanical strength of LCHC mortar. The research results of this project had important supporting significance for promoting the large-scale application of HBC and LCHC.
