Mechanical Model and Engineering Application of Curved Surface Sliding Isolation Structure

Curved surface sliding isolated structure (CSSIS) is a new technology with a wide range of potential applications. However, in engineering practices, ground motion simulation controls the seismic design and risk assessment of CSSIS. To address the scarcity of strong earthquake records, a stochastic ground motion model that reflects the specific seismic characteristics of a specific region has been proposed. The key structural parameters of the established CSSIS mechanical model were determined through shaking table tests and theoretical analysis. Taking the Ninghe area of Tianjin, China, as an example, based on the seismic characteristics and site features of the 1976 magnitude 7.8 Tangshan Earthquake, stochastic seismic waves were generated, and dynamic response analysis of the structure was conducted. The results indicate that under the excitation of Tianjin waves, the acceleration and displacement amplification ratios of the isolation layer, as well as the acceleration and displacement amplification ratios of the first floor, are all enveloped by the dynamic response data of the upper and lower bounds of simulated seismic waves, and the fluctuation range is stable. Furthermore, 100 randomly simulated seismic waves were input into the model for numerical simulation, and the calculated results were statistically fitted and analyzed to study the statistical characteristics of the response envelope diagram of the mechanical model.
