Institutional support for export credit to enterprises in the context of sustainable development: the case of EU

Introduction. In today`s environment of uncertainty affecting the activities of economic agents caused by full-scale military aggression, companies need to diversify their sales markets to increase their competitiveness. Government support for the export activities of enterprises will strengthen the process of economic growth, facilitate the transfer of new technologies, increase employment and increase tax revenues. The purpose is to to study the EU experience in the field of institutional support for export credit for enterprises in the context of sustainable development. Methodology: bibliographic analysis, analysis, synthesis, generalisation. Main results and conclusions. Joint efforts of the state and enterprises in this context will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The institutional support for the export crediting of EU enterprises in the context of sustainable development is constantly evolving, taking into account all current international initiatives and projects aimed at combating climate change (SDGs, COP26 Climate Change Conference). The role of export credit agencies (ECAs) as an integral part of the implementation of the goals of a gradual “green” transition and the formation of the preconditions for the creation of “sustainable goods” and the provision of “sustainable services” is presented in many EU regulations, including: the Paris Agreement; the European Green Deal; the statement of accession to the COP26 Glasgow Conference Resolution and many others. Given the European integration vector of Ukraine’s development, it is advisable to conduct a permanent analysis of EU legislative innovations. This will help harmonise the national regulatory framework with EU directives and create institutional preconditions for the further development of the export credit mechanism for enterprises in Ukraine.
