Cover Feature: Synthesis of Thiazolidinedione‐ and Triazole‐Linked Organoselenocyanates and Evaluation of Anticancer Activities Against Breast Cancer with Mechanistic Investigations (Chem. Eur. J. 11/2025)
Thiazolidinedione- and triazole-fused organoselenocyanates have been developed towards the treatment of the most aggressive triple-negative breast cancer in females. Among the synthesized selenocyanates, the unsubstituted benzylic analogue of thiazolidinedione-based organoselenocyanate was the most potent exhibiting its anticancer activity by arresting cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle with the downregulation of CDK4 and cyclin D1 and via the ERK/Akt signalling pathway.
