Augmented Single-Frequency Ka-Band Patch Antenna with Dynamic Slot Configurations for Optimized Bandwidth and Radiation Propensities
This report presents the design and evaluation of a Ka-band antenna for fifth generation (5G) networks and advanced wireless applications. A re-engineered rectangular monopole configuration is employed to achieve resonance at 28.0 GHz, yielding a return loss of -44.15 dB. The antenna features a hybrid structure, combining rectangular and circular patches, and is fabricated on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate with a thickness of 0.254 mm. The operational frequency spectrum spans from 27.70 GHz to 28.30 GHz, ensuring broadband performance. The design process is facilitated through HFSS software, enabling electromagnetic simulation and optimization techniques. The antenna exhibits an advantageous impedance profile with a resistance of 50 ohms and a reactance of 1 ohm, ensuring minimal signal loss. Key performance metrics, including gain, impedance matching, VSWR, radiation pattern, and reflection coefficients, are analyzed. The design's diversity performance positions is the ideal solution for 5G mobile networks and high-frequency wireless communication systems.
