Improving IoT Device Reliability Through Cold Standby Sparing Redundancy
A developing technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) uses a network of interconnected wireless sensors to gather data. Intelligent and smart technologies are helping people live more comfortably via the Internet of Things. Among them, home automation is a kind that makes use of networked actuators and sensors. There are several levels in an IoT network, including the controller, device, gateway, server, and application layers. It is possible for problems to arise in the device layer because of the large number of tiny devices that it is linked to. At the device level, fault tolerance and device clustering are the primary topics of this study. Network dependability is enhanced as a result of enhanced fault tolerance. To enhance the suggested system's fault tolerance level, an active redundancy approach called cold standby sparing redundancy (CSSR) is introduced for IoT systems. As a cluster head, this method makes use of two identical modules. From 0.1 to 0.38, this method improves the system's dependability)
