Region-Specific Solar Performance Estimation: The Role of Data Acquisition Systems
Accurate estimation of photovoltaic (PV) panel power output requires a reliable and comprehensive data acquisition system. This study reviews existing renewable energy measurement systems and introduces a system implemented at Afyon Kocatepe University. Capable of analyzing polycrystalline, monocrystalline, and CIGS panels, the system records solar radiation, panel currents and voltages, surface temperatures, and meteorological variables at 15-minute intervals. The frequent measurements provide a large and detailed dataset crucial for training artificial intelligence algorithms, improving the accuracy and reliability of predictive models. By addressing region-specific microclimatic variations, the system enhances energy output predictions and supports dynamic environmental condition monitoring. The study highlights the system's advantages, limitations, and potential applications in predictive energy modeling and PV performance analysis.
