Home Energy Consumption Prediction Using Smart Meters in Riyadh Saudi Arabia

In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has experienced significant energy consumption, with a total of 302 terawatt-hours consumed in 2021, compared to 289 terawatt-hours in 2020, as estimated by the General Authority for Statistics. By predicting loads, the consumer can be informed of the anticipated bill throughout the month. A daily limit may be established for the user to self-impose, serving as a cap on daily usage; should this limit be over, the customer will receive an alert on the potential for increased charges. This work provides the solution by employing algorithms to predict outcomes based on input loads. This project involves collecting a database utilizing a smart meter from three distinct residences to obtain detailed load information for enhanced predictive accuracy. This data will serve as input for our application, which utilizes forecasting algorithms to anticipate future loads for the properties. The program will transmit the data to the controller, which can categorize the forecasted information into two tiers: the first tier pertains to the energy consumption of our clients, accompanied by the corresponding bill amount; the second tier will provide alerts to prevent inflated bills.
