Analysis of Near-Field Scattering Measurements from Targets by Vortex Electromagnetic Wave
In this paper, the near-field scattering measurement experiments of metal targets from vortex electromagnetic wave are carried out based on the holographic metasurface antenna, and the differences in near scattering properties of metal targets are excavated. Through simulation, an anisotropic holographic impedance metasurface array antenna operating at 16 GHz is designed to cover three kinds of vortex electromagnetic waves with modes -1, 0, and +1, and the measured modal purity is above 80%, therefor the amplitude and phase information of the scattering field of the typical metal targets such as ball, flat plate, and cone are measured in the microwave darkroom. The target near-field scattering measurement is consistent with FEKO simulation, and scattering properties of different targets vary significantly by surface modulation. This finding is an important contribution to the improvement of radar’s comprehensive detection capability.
