Dual-band Shared-aperture Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna for 5G/6G Millimeter-Wave Applications
A new dual-band shared-aperture magneto-electric (ME) dipole, with fork-shaped microstrip line aperture-coupled excitation, is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of a high-band (HB) feeding patch located on the top, a low-band (LB) feeding patch positioned below the HB feeding patch, a ground plane with coupling slot and feeding network. The simulated results, indicating that the proposed antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 23.1% (23.3-29.4 GHz) and 10.8% (38.7-43.4 GHz), demonstrate that within impedance bandwidth, the gain remains stable and consistently exceeds 5 dBi. With the advantages of dual-band, shared aperture, and stable gain, the proposed design has great prospects for applications in 5G/6G millimeter-wave.
