Design of Wideband Wide-beam High-gain Reflector Antenna for Solar Radio Astronomy Observations

In response to the application requirements of solar radio imaging observations, a wideband wide-beam high-gain reflector antenna design is proposed, which consists of a $6 \mathbf{m}$ paraboloid reflector and a spline-profiled quadruple ridged flared horn (QRFH) feed. Unlike conventional high-efficiency reflector antenna designs, in order to combine the requirements of broadband, certain beamwidth, and high gain performance, a novel integrated optimization method based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is adopted in the design of horn structure parameters and phase center position. The simulation results show that the optimized reflector antenna can cover a wide operating frequency of $4-15 \mathrm{GHz}$, with a 3 dB beamwidth of more than 0.6° and the antenna gain within working frequencies is over 44.5dB.
