Millimeter-Wave Multi-Beam Antenna Based on Filtering Magnetoelectric Dipole
In this paper, a novel millimeter-wave multi-beam antenna utilized filtering magnetoelectric dipole is proposed. The electrical and magnetic dipole is achieved by utilizing two square metal sheets at the upper layer and a slit gap respectively. These elements construct a magnetoelectric dipole with a center frequency of 25.4 GHz. The lower layer coupled with the substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL). Based on the above antenna element, a $1 \times 3$ linear array is designed and coupled with a $3 \times 3$ Butler matrix with different phases, realizing a multi-beam antenna with three beams. The beam coverage range in the operating frequency band of the antenna is about 110 degrees, and the gain reaches up to $9.1 d B i$ for different beam-pointing directions and operating frequency points.
