A 23-46 GHz Dual-Polarized $4\times 2$ Planar Phased Array for Portable 5G FR-2 Applications
This paper presents a novel compact 23–46 GHz dual-polarized phased-array system configured in a 4x2 arrangement for small and portable applications. Stacked-dipole antennas with differential feeds are integrated with ultra-wideband TxlRx beamforming chips to enable simultaneous dual-polarized operation. The array shows scanning capabilities of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\pm 45^{\circ}$</tex> in the azimuth plane over the entire bandwidth, and with measured EIRP of up to 30 dBm. The phased array is a promising candidate for multiband 5G systems, particularly in handheld and loT devices.
