Design of Novel Filter Orthomode Transducer
In this paper, a filter orthomode transducer (OMT) is proposed for Ku-band applications. The orthomode transducer and waveguide filter are electromagnetically coupled through a rectangular hole directly, realizing the duplex transmission of orthogonal polarized electromagnetic waves. Simulated and measured results demonstrate that the proposed OMT exhibits excellent performances in the frequency band of 10.0 –13.0 GHz. The return losses of the orthomode ports are less than - 40.0 dB and -10.0dB, respectively. The insertion losses are less than 0.1 dB. The isolation between the orthomode ports is better than 50.0 dB.
