An Ultra Wideband Wide-Angle Scanning Phased Array Antenna
An ultra wideband wide-angle scanning phased array antenna is designed. It is a banyan tree antenna, of which the radiation curved arm is obtained by stretching a closed envelope which is compose of three exponential curves and a straight line. The gradually changing exponential curve envelope of the radiating curved arm greatly expands the impedance bandwidth. Simulated results show that in the frequency band of $30 \mathrm{MHz} \sim 100 \mathrm{MHz}$, the active voltage standing wave ratio (AVSWR) scanned from 0° to 60° in azimuth plane and from 0° to 30° in elevation plane are all less than 2.5. The simulated $10 \times 6$ array antennas have excellent ultra wideband wide-angle scanning characteristics.
