Dual-mode Wideband Low-Profile and High Isolation Microstrip Dual Antenna Module
In this article, a dual-mode microstrip dual antenna module with the characteristic of wideband, low-profile and high isolation is proposed. The antenna has a pair of microstrip patches which is suspended above the metal ground, connected by a pair of feed ports. By adding a circular arc cutting angle, a rectangular branch and two corner arch truncations, a two-mode resonance is generated and optimized. According to the data, the antenna achieves a $4.36-4.88 \mathrm{GHz}(11 \%)$ bandwidth, its isolation reaches 15.7 dB under the premise of a profile of only 0.6 mm. The antenna also has a maximum gain of 8.18 dBi at 4.75 GHz, and the overall efficiency of the antenna reaches ${4 5 \% - 6 8 \%}$ in the operating frequency. These performances together with merits, such as simple structure, low cost and compact size, makes the antenna a competitive candidate for mobile wireless communication applications.
