Increasing Electric Power System Stability by Integrating Renewable Energy
Reducing carbon emissions and tackling the world's energy problems need the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into modern power networks. With a focus on voltage stability and overall grid reliability, this study examines how the integration of renewable energy affects the stability of the electric power system. In this work, the voltage stability of the modified IEEE 13-bus test system is investigated as a case study because of DG penetrations as the load grows. In this work, MATLAB/Simulink is utilized to perform the simulations and examine the results of the utilization of photovoltaic energy sources in distribution systems. Results from case studies and simulations show that RES improves system stability and resilience to dynamic changes in supply and demand. In this paper, testing was carried out for both increased loads and network problems. The load was increased by the following percentages in buses 671 and 675 separately: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Then, the load is increased in the two buses (671 + 675) together by the previous percentages.
