Enhancing 5G Millimeter-Wave Multiband Capabilities with Optimized Microstrip 4x4 Array Antenna

This paper presents the design of a microstrip 4x4 patch antenna array specifically designed for 5G communications in mm-wave applications, covering a frequency range from 20.92 GHz to 135.68 GHz, spanning nineteen crucial frequency bands while maintaining favorable radiation properties with a maximum gain of 12.1 dBi at 24.08 GHz, a return loss range between -11.50 dB and -36.84 dB while the bandwidth ranges varies from 140 MHz to 9 GHz. Additionally, its small form factor of (53.60 x 47.60 x 0.25) mm3 makes it suitable for integration into compact mobile devices for 5G mm-wave. Simulation results validate the antenna performance with data available in the literature.
