An ultra-wideband dual-polarization wide-angle scanning tightly coupled line array
This paper introduces an ultra-wideband, low-profile, dual-polarization, tightly coupled dipole linear array (TCDLA) with an operating frequency of $2 \mathrm{~GHz} \sim 18 \mathrm{~GHz}$. By introducing a shaped asymptotic loading structure at the open boundary of the cells, it enables the matching of the low frequency in the case of a one-dimensional linear array with a low-profile. And meanwhile adopting the coupling form in the vertical polarization, the coupling among cells is maximized and the bandwidth is widened. The bandwidth of the tightly coupled array is broadened. The simulation results show that for VSWR ${\lt}3.5$, the TCDLA can achieve a bandwidth of 9:1 in both vertical and horizontal polarization, and a sweep range of ±52°.
